Meet Dr. Aparna Kuvalekar, PT, DPT
Founder, PelviCore Physical Therapy
MELT Certified | Pilates (Mat 1 & 2, Reformer 1) | Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute Coursework
Dr. Aparna Kuvalekar brings over 16 years of experience as a physical therapist, combining advanced clinical expertise with a deeply personal understanding of the patient journey. She holds a Bachelor's in Physical Therapy from Sancheti Institute College of Physiotherapy in Pune, India, a Master’s degree from Loma Linda University, and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana.
Aparna’s clinical passion lies in pelvic floor rehabilitation and chronic pain management. Her interest in pelvic health was sparked while working with chronic pain patients and deepened following her own experience with pelvic floor dysfunction after her second pregnancy. This firsthand insight gave her a profound appreciation of the physical, emotional, and functional impact pelvic health has on quality of life, and the significant care gaps that persist in conventional medicine.
Her holistic, evidence-based approach blends the science of movement with empathy and mindfulness. Drawing on her expertise in biomechanics, anatomy, yoga, Pilates, MELT Method, movement analysis, and manual therapy, she treats each patient as a whole person - addressing not only symptoms, but root causes.
Having faced her own share of musculoskeletal challenges, she found significant relief through yoga and physical therapy, experiences that deeply influence her empathetic and holistic approach to patient care.
With a strong foundation in human anatomy, biomechanics, and movement science, Aparna builds meaningful, trust-based relationships with her patients. Her treatment philosophy centers on viewing each patient as a whole person, integrating mind-body awareness and collaborating with other like-minded healthcare professionals to deliver truly comprehensive care.
Aparna incorporates a wide range of techniques into her practice, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, movement analysis, yoga, Pilates, and the MELT Method. Her approach is rooted in empathy and guided by evidence-based practices.
Outside of her practice, Aparna enjoys a full and active life in La Crescenta with her husband and two sons. She has been a dedicated practitioner of Iyengar Yoga for over nine years and finds balance through hiking, meditation, reading, and travel.

DBC Method
D - Down Train and Deload
We begin by calming the nervous system and releasing overactive muscles, including the pelvic floor and muscles that influence breathing. This phase promotes relaxation, reduces pain, and restores mobility—laying the groundwork for strengthening.
B - Build
Once the body is ready, we strengthen weak or underactive muscles and re-establish correct movement patterns. This builds a strong, balanced foundation tailored to your individual goals.
C- Connect
This final step is about reconnecting - with your body, your activities, and your life. We help you return to the things you love, symptom-free and confident. Connect back to life!!!
